Gas And Electric Programs Become Prominent
Electric and Gas are both coming together to create successful energy efficient programs.
Many states are beginning to save energy through utility programs. These programs take into account gas and electric in states such as California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont, according to ACEEE.
States involved share their own success stories.
"[They] illustrate successful approaches within four institutional arrangements: combination utilities, integrated statewide programs, third-party administrators, and programs coordinated between separate utilities," ACEEE states on their website. "ACEEE recommends that states adopt clear policies advancing integrated gas and electric programs, and that utility and other program administrators reaching for higher levels of cost-effective energy savings pursue these opportunities."
States work together to collaborate ideas and promote healthier energy use.
